Stephen D. Paul, MD
Dr. Paul is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 16 years of experience. Dr. Paul’s special interest is in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee and ankle. He has trained in sports medicine, specifically for trauma and reconstructive surgery related to cycling and skiing.
Dr. Paul earned his Medical Degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his internship at the University of Colorado Affiliated Hospitals in Denver, orthopedic and rehabilitation residency at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Los Angeles, and sports medicine fellowship at the University of Colorado and Orthopedic Associates of Aspen and Glenwood in Aspen, CO.
Lorri J. Fulkerson, MD
Dr. Fulkerson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Fulkerson has been practicing in Boulder since 1994 and has years of extensive training and experience in sports medicine, including advanced arthroscopic techniques, cartilage replacement surgery, and reconstructive surgery of
the knee and shoulder.
Dr. Fulkerson earned her Medical Degree from the University of California at Davis. She completed her nternship at Swedish Hospital in Seattle and orthopedic surgery residency at San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Training Program.
J. David Grauer, MD
Dr. Grauer received his undergraduate degree from Miami University, Ohio in 1978 and his Medical
Degree from Case Western Reserve in 1982. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency in 1988 at UCLA, and a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery in 1989 at the University of Utah. He returned to UCLA from 1989 through 1991 with an academic appointment and served as a team physician.
Dr. Grauer has practiced in Boulder County since 1991 and is board certified in both orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He serves as team physician for Centaurus High School and enjoys mountain bike racing and skiing.
Dirk Dolbeare, MD
Dr. Dolbeare is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He returned to Boulder Orthopedics after
completing his residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Before attending
medical school, Dr. Dolbeare obtained his Masters in Physical Therapy and practiced in New York,
Boston and at Boulder Orthopedics. To broaden his orthopedic skills and give his patients complete and comprehensive care, he aspired to orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Dolbeare earned his Masters of Physical Therapy from Boston University and his Medical Degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his internship in general surgery at the University of Arkansas and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Medical College of Virginia.
Michael Repine, MD
Dr. Repine is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Repine has completed all of his higher education within Colorado. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado – Boulder. He received his degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Subsequent to this, he completed his orthopedic residency and internship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Repine views orthopedics as an exceptional opportunity to help people. While he enjoys treating a broad range of orthopedic problems, he has particular interests in the treatment of arthritis, sports-related injuries and trauma. Dr. Repine is trained in anterior hip replacement and MAKOplasty partial knee replacement.
Lynn A. Voss, MD
Dr. Voss has been a board-certified orthopedic surgeon for over 8 years. He has expertise in treating people with emergency multiple traumatic injuries. Dr. Voss has been awarded for teaching medical students about emergency orthopedics. He has taught physicians in Switzerland about methods of fracture care and is a requested trauma surgeon both locally and internationally.
Dr. Voss earned his Medical Degree from the University of Health Sciences at the Chicago School of Medicine. He completed his internship, orthopedic surgery residency and trauma fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital at the Brown University School of Medicine. Dr. Voss earned several awards for research during his training.
James B. Rector, MD
Dr. Rector is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He is one of the first surgeons in the United States to perform state-of-the-art hip resurfacing. As a physician and team doctor, Dr. Rector has a special interest in arthroscopic knee surgery. He has extensive training and experience in total hip and total knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Rector earned his Medical Degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his internship at the Ohio State University Hospital and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
Khemarin Seng, MD
Dr. Seng is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy. He has a focused interest in hip arthroscopy, shoulder reconstruction and replacement. After graduating from medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, he completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Harvard Medical School. He served as intern at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and orthopedic surgical resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Boston. After residency, he completed a sport medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at the Taos Orthopedic Institute in Taos, New Mexico.
Dr. Seng is a current member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association volunteer physician pool and reviewer for The Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Surgery.
Michael P. Wertz, MD
Dr. Wertz graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1978 with a double major in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Business Finance. His medical degree was earned at Case Western Reserve University in 1982. He did an internship in general surgery at the University of Vermont in 1982-1983. He did his orthopedic surgery training at the University of Vermont from 1983-1987. Dr. Wertz was board recertified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 2009. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS).
Dr. Wertz has subspecialty interests in adult reconstructive surgery and has performed over 1,000 total joints of the hip, knee and shoulder. He has been a presenter/moderator at AAOS annual meetings and has been an instructor for total joint implantation at the AAOS meeting. His other subspecialty interests include sports medicine and hand surgery.
C. Brian Blackwood, MD
Dr. Blackwood is Boulder’s first fellowship trained hip and knee replacement specialist. Dr. Blackwood is the most experienced MAKOplasty surgeon in Colorado and has the most experience performing Direct Anterior Hip replacement in Northern Colorado. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Blackwood specializes in minimally invasive total knee replacement, robotic-assisted partial knee and total hip replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, complex knee and select hip revision and knee arthroscopy.
